Lizzy is Cracker Box Palace's "Miracle Horse." She's a thoroughbred who came to the shelter in the fall of 2008 from a cruelty case. At that time, she body-scored a 1 and her hooves were in such bad shape that the vets gave her little hope. Lizzy, and we, never gave up. Her feet were medicated and wrapped daily, and she was put on a very special diet to properly gain weight. Now, after her rescue, her body and spirit are healed. She has gained over 250 pounds and is a real beauty, who has learned to love and trust again. Lizzy can be ridden now...something that no one ever expected would happen. Her feet are healed too! We had them re-xrayed and they are perfect! She has been vet approved to do pretty much any discipline! She has done eventing in her previous life and was a retired race horse. She has been ridden here at the farm on trails and is a big kitten! She's looking for a loving forever-home. Lizzy has stolen our hearts and we know she'll steal yours too.
